This weekend represents the end of our first month of business and its been a whirl-wind! We have been overwhelmed by the good wishes from everyone as we try to get this thing off the ground. Business has been good, especially at the weekends, although brunch hasn’t been as successful as we hoped, Matthews seems to wake up very late in early winter. We are busy putting together our plans for Xmas and the New Year. So far we have a Gala planned for New Years Eve, with a single sitting, 6 course menu accompanied by a speciality cocktail and bubbly at midnight. We have also been busy revisiting the menu, we will be introducing some new items in the next week or so, to replace those that are no longer in season. Finally, we are working on our plans for some special events, so we are looking at some chef inspired cooking lessons, some mixology ‘classes’ and some pairing dinners around our wines and liquors, probably starting with a bourbon pairing. We are all excited to see how the holiday season transpires.
